How to Use the Furi Fur626 Ozitech Knife Sharpener
I thought I should post a simple step-by-step guide on how to use the extremely popular Furi Fur626 Ozitech knife sharpener. The sharpener is functional, safe, and easy to carry around. Problem is some people have no idea how to use it. Hopefully the instructions provided below would assist those who are still scratching their heads trying to figure out the proper way to use the Ozitech Furi Fur626 sharpener.
How to Set Up the Sharpener
Step One: Hold the Furi Fur626 sharpener with one hand, and use the other hand to bring down the wing clips located on each side of the sharpener. Be careful when opening the wing clips. They are rather fragile and you might break one or even both if you are not careful. Just use your finger tips to bring those clips down.
Step Two: Now go ahead an open the handle halves. Note that only the bottom half is rotatable. Yes, it can be rotated in a free manner; however, the top one is stationary.
Step Three: Make you sure click into completely open position, but go easy on the rotation. If you keep on rotating and exceeding a certain point, you might damage the sharpener’s guard.

Step One: Find a stable, flat surface and put the sharpener on it. Place one hand on the bottom guard, the one lying on the surface. Keep a good, firm hold on the bottom guard, and please make sure every part of your hand is protected by the guards before you begin sharpening. The hand holding down the bottom half guard must remain well behind the stationary top half guard to ensure complete protection.
Step Two: Place the heel of your knife blade right between the fingers of the Furi Fur626 sharpener. For optimum sharpening precision, hold your knife vertically.
Step Three: Apply a bit of pressure while pulling your knife down and back through the fingers of the sharpener. For maintenance sharpening, utilize this swiping motion several times. I recommend repeating it between five to ten times. If the blade doesn’t feel sharp enough for you, then keep swiping it through the fingers until you achieve the edge that you desire.
The fingers of the Ozitech Furi Fur626 are capable of sharpening or reshaping edges on a light level. Therefore keep in mind that an exceedingly dull knife – basically one that is almost completely losing its edge, will not benefit much from this sharpener.
The Ozitech Furi Fur626 is ideal for slight to moderate dull knives. To sharpen heavily worn knives, you gonna need something with more ‘sharpening juice’, so to speak. Basically, you might want to try sharpening those heavily worn knives using manual tools such as whetstone and sharpening steel, or try finding the best electric sharpener money can buy and use it on those awfully dull knives. Good luck!
