Best Sharpening Steel
Purchased a brand new sharpening steel a few months back and I truly couldn’t be happier with it. The new steel addresses all the flaws that the old one had. The old one didn’t meet my expectations as the steel was more on the grainy side, it was a little heavy, and the thing just didn’t sharpen all that well.
So as they say, out with the old, and in with the new! And here it is folks, the new kid in the drawer…This thing is a pretty regular feature in the kitchen and to me, it’s the best sharpening steel I’ve used.

The Best Sharpening Steel is Made in the U.S.A!
That’s right. This steel is made here in the U.S.A so obviously the quality is dependable. My old steel was made in China…I guess that’s why the quality was a real downer. They do make some good stuff there like my auto pet feeder which I really like and some custom made items, but many things from there are just pure waste of money!
Anyway, EdgeTek Ultra Steel is a wonderful product. The surface is fully coated with diamond, and because the contour is oval-shaped, it enables you to sharpen an array of blade edges to terrific results. So you can use this sharpening steel for kitchen knives, hunting knives, pocket knives, scissors, and the like.
The steel is also very light so it won’t tire your arm and you can easily carry it around wherever you go. It really feels nice in the hand which is one of the primary attributes of a good quality sharpening steel. And I love the handle which is made of polypropylene – a highly flexible plastic polymer utilized in all sorts of everyday items including stationery, containers, various plastic components, packaging, etc.
Now I’m aware some people prefer sharpening steel for kitchen knives that has a handle made of wood. Heck, I do fancy a wooden handle myself, but you know what? Polypropylene handle has several good benefits such as dishwasher-safe, resistant to shock/impact, free surface, and most important off all – excellent hygiene because of its smooth surface.
That’s just the way it is these days, most good quality sharpening steels are usually fitted with a polypropylene handle. I’ve used the EdgeTek Ultra Steel for months and I’m always delighted with the results I get from using it. The knives in my drawer and toolbox are all sharp because of it and the thing works pretty fast too.
Trust me; this is the best sharpening steel for the buck and I’m not the only one who’s happy with this thing. Other users are pleased with it too. If you don’t believe me, just follow the link below and you’ll find reviews submitted by other customers. Go ahead, check it out…
